The Asian American Music Conference AAMC includes a day of diverse panels, talks, key case studies, consultative sessions, networking and performances. Speakers and panelists include music professionals with years of experience in various roles in the music industry. The AAMC seeks to strengthen the Asian American music industry by equipping aspiring individuals with relevant skills and knowledge, while bringing together established music professionals and companies to develop key relationships. Mallory Yu. Musicians from all over the world are settling back at home, recovering from last week's South by Southwest festival in Austin, Texas. Hundreds of musicians played throughout the week, for crowds big and small. One of this year's showcases was the first in the festival's history to feature a lineup made up entirely of Asian-American artists. The event took place on a warm Thursday night in the upstairs lounge of a barbecue restaurant in downtown Austin.
Asian American Contribution to Hip-Hop. Hip-hop consists of rhyming to the accompaniment of a beat, and usually entails storytelling by the artist. Beyond rap, hip-hop has extended to become a culture that involves disc jockeying, dancing, more specifically breakdancing, fashion, and language.
